On The Map
‘On the map - stories from Nether Lochaber’ was a project between University of the Highlands & Islands (UHI) and the Nether Lochaber Community Association (NLCA), and funded by SCVO.
The project created a Geotourist audio tour featuring local stories and an interactive Google map, both of which can be accesses below.
Audio tour
The audio stories were created collaboratively between Nether Lochaber community members and the staff of the Centre for Recreation and Tourism Research, UHI.
There are eleven stories told by seven different people which offer hidden histories and surprising stories.
The audio tour can be accessed free of charge via the Geotourist website and app, by following this link. You'll find the 11 stories and accompanying photographs in two places - by clicking the 'Explore at Home' button, and listed underneath that button.
Discover Nether Lochaber map
The interactive map below can be used to discover walking routes, cycle trails, images and videos of Nether Lochaber, and it links to the Geotourist audio stories.
You navigate the map by clicking on the various icons or routes to view more information. It can be viewed and explored below or for more detail and a larger display open it directly in Google Maps.
