Welcome to NLCA

Canyoning Event POSTPONED

Dear NLCA members,

We are sorry to tell you that the Inchree sponsored canyon event planned to take place this Sunday is postponed due to unexpected circumstances. We hope to rearrange this for the end of the Summer and will inform you as soon something is decided.

In the meantime, I am putting together a selection of short workshops over the Summer months that will showcase the types of activities that the barn could host. As well as attracting new and old faces we hope to raise a bit of money for the project through donations for tickets. So far I have a singing workshop, knitting, nature walk, foraging, Gaelic, storytelling potentially lined up with more ideas in the bag! The members will be the first to have the details!

One of our NLCA trustees will be raising funds for the barn project this Sunday.  Iain Jenner will be completing a great tree traverse moving across potentially 30 trees at Inchree without touching the ground. He will be starting at 9.30 am at the lower pool. Do shout some encouragement if you are passing.  Better still you can donate or share our posts on social media to help us spread the word!

Thanks all and again, my details are below if anyone wants a chat about the project or wants to get involved.

Kind regards

Lucy Cooke

Project Officer | Nether Lochaber Community Association

We are a local, voluntary association which aims to make Nether Lochaber a better place to live, work and visit. Our membership is made up of people living in the area who want to get involved in improving their community.

Nether Lochaber comprises small villages and crofting townships on the eastern side of Loch Linnhe on the west coast of Scotland, stretching from the Ballachulish Bridge over the mouth of Loch Leven to just south of Fort William.

The association is a registered charity (SCIO) comprising a small board of volunteer trustees plus members who are mostly from the local area. We are working to improve the local facilities and services for the people who live here and for those who visit. We do this by:

  • creating new facilities, and improving existing ones, to support the provision of additional services.
  • organising or supporting community social events.
  • taking care of our historic and natural surroundings.

How you can help us

With your support we can:

  • purchase tools, plants, and other necessities so we can continue to look after our local facilities and environment.
  • put on events such as a New Year Ceilidh with transport provided for those who otherwise may not be able to come.
  • assist individuals and small groups wanting to help with specific local issues.
  • take advantage of future opportunities, e.g. we have started discussing a new environmental project which could involve children from the local school.

Join us!

If you live in the area then please consider joining us; take a look at our Facebook page to see what is going on - maybe come along to one of our activity days to say hello and get some exercise !
